Before it was a bar, it was a piano that had been played for a hundred years. Its timber was taken apart and rebuilt by hand into the bar, with the old piano wood across the front, soft lighting underneath and room for greenery and fairy lights on top. It folds down to travel and sets up in your backyard like it's always been there.

I'm Alex. I've spent five years behind bars around the Illawarra, and I started Sea Salt Lime because the best parties happen at someone's house, and the host never gets to enjoy them.

Free anywhere from Stanwell Park to Dapto. Further out, travel is $1 per km for the return trip.
Peak dates
December Saturdays are 10% more and New Year's Eve is 50% more. Bookings under 14 days out carry a $150 short-notice fee.

A 20% deposit locks it in. The balance and final guest numbers are due 14 days before.
We'll be pouring before your first guest arrives, you won't run out of ice, and you'll wake up to a clean bar area. Miss any of these and you get $100 off your balance.

How is the price worked out?
By the number of guests you invite and how long the bar is open, from 3 hours. Your quote shows one total. Try the price estimator for a ballpark.
Do you supply the alcohol?
No. You buy it and we serve it, because alcohol can't be sold at a private party without a licence. Once you book, we send a bottle shop list sized to your guests and menu. The alcohol calculator gives you a head start.
How do we secure our date?
A 20% deposit locks it in. Until it's paid, the date stays open to other bookings. The balance is due 14 days before the party.
What if more people turn up than planned?
Up to 5 extra guests on the night are on us. Beyond that, each extra guest is $25. Final numbers are confirmed 14 days before.
What if we need to cancel?
The deposit isn't refundable, but you can move it to a new date once. Cancel 8 to 14 days out and we refund half the balance. Inside 7 days, the balance isn't refundable.
Can we choose the cocktails?
Yes. There's no set list. We build your menu with you on the planning call, including a signature cocktail and a mocktail.
Where do you travel?
Travel is free anywhere from Stanwell Park to Dapto: Coalcliff, Clifton, Scarborough, Wombarra, Coledale, Austinmer, Thirroul, Bulli, Woonona, Bellambi, Corrimal, Fairy Meadow, Wollongong, Figtree and Unanderra included. Further afield, like Kiama, Shellharbour or the Southern Highlands, is $1 per km for the return trip.
What do we need on site?
A flat spot about 2 metres wide for the bar, ideally near power. Let us know if there's running water nearby. It helps, but we can work without it.
How long does set-up take?
We arrive about 90 minutes before your guests and pack down the same night.
What if it rains?
Tell us your wet-weather plan on the planning call. The bar works under a patio, carport or marquee.
Will you serve someone who's had too much?
No. Every bartender works under NSW RSA rules and will stop serving anyone who is intoxicated. It keeps your guests safe and your party a good one.
